ELIGIBILITY

Applications on plain paper/prescribed form obtainable from the office of the UGC-ASC by sending stamped (rupees five) self-addressed envelope or from website duly forwarded by the Principal of the College/Head of the Department, Dean of the Faculty, Registrar are invited from College/University Assistant Professors (GR I, II & III), Associate Professors for the following Refresher Courses (21 days) and Orientation Programmes (28 days) and Short-term Courses (2 to 6 days). Faculties working in the Universities and Colleges, that are included under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, even though may not yet be fit under 12B of the UGC Act are eligible to participate. It has also been agreed that the teachers of colleges, who do not come within the purview of Section 2(f), but have affiliated to a University and serving at least 2 years uninterruptedly, are permitted to participate.

The temporary/ contract Teachers (also from Private Engineering Colleges) who have been teaching for at least two academic sessions in an institution which has been affiliated to a university may be allowed to participate in the Orientation Programme/ Refresher Course to enhance their skills. However, part-time teachers affiliated to University/ AICTE drawing salary at UGC rate would also be included in OPs/ RCs.

For Refresher Courses (RC), participation in an Orientation Programme (OP) is a pre-requisite qualification. However, in exceptional cases a teacher may be allowed to complete a RC prior to completion of an OP. Also there should be a minimum gap of one year between two courses subject to relaxation as per UGC rules.

For Orientation Programme newly appointed teachers up to six years of continuous service and all those teachers who require orientation programme for getting higher grade may also apply. Application be entertained/ accepted only when accompanied by draft of Rs. 500/- [in favour of "The University of Burdawn (ASC)"] (non-refundable) payable at Burdwan 45 days before the date of commencement of the concerned programme. Draft should not be purchased before 45 days of the programme applied for.
